Youngstown Boys Blog Post

What were your overall impressions on how Jim Tressel handled the controversy?
I think that Tressel handled the controversy good. There wasn't a lot he could do because it was between Maurice and the school. If he sided with Maurice, then his job would probably in danger, like Maurice's playing career was. He mostly kept quiet to protect his job, like most people would have done in that situation.

How does character relate to this 30 for 30?
Character was a bog part of this 30 for 30 because it shows how the character of some people changed and how it controlled their lives. During Maurice's first year at Ohio State, he seemed to develop good character and that allowed him to have a good life. Then after he made all his mistakes, his character got worse and so did his life.

How is this a positive example and negative example for choices made by human beings? (What sort of positives resulted and what negatives occurred in this 30 for 30?)
Some positive choices made in this 30 for 30 was when Maurice committed to Ohio State. When he committed to Ohio State he became the starter and he lead them to a national championship. Another good choice was after Maurice got out of jail, he decided to go back to school, and speak to young kids about his life. Some negative choices was when Maurice was dismissed from Ohio State, he partied a lot. He drank a lot and did drugs. The worst choice was when he lead the police on a chase and he had guns in the car. That made him go to jail for a a few years.

What was the purpose/theme of this 30 for 30?
The purpose/theme of this 30 for 30 is that your character shapes your life. If you have good character then you will have a good life, but if you have bad character then you will not have a good life. When Maurice's character was good, he was a star running back, then it got bad and he ended up in jail. He developed that good character at the end and went back to school, and talks to people about his life.
